Live dashboards: turn a repeat question into a page

In Cowork, Claude can save a one-off answer as a live artifact — a page that pulls fresh data each time you open it and persists across sessions. Stop re-asking; build the view once.

The repeat-question tax

Some questions you ask on a loop: 'what's on my plate today?', 'how did we do this week?', 'what's waiting on me?' Each time, you re-ask, Claude re-fetches, and you re-read. It's the same work, paid daily — a quiet tax on your attention.

The signal is simple: if you ask it weekly, you shouldn't be asking it at all. You should be opening it.

The reframeA question you ask repeatedly is a page you haven't built yet.
Section 02

Make it a live artifact

In Cowork, Claude can build a small self-contained page — an artifact — and save it. The page isn't a frozen screenshot; it pulls fresh data from your connected tools each time it loads, and it persists between sessions so it's there when you come back.

You go from asking a question to owning a living view of the answer.

Key ideaAn artifact is a saved answer that keeps itself current — not a one-time reply.
Section 03

Open it each morning

Instead of typing your morning question, you open the page. Today's tasks, this week's metrics, the current queue — already rendered, already current. If you want the very latest, there's a reload. The answer is waiting before you ask it.

That's the whole win: the work of fetching and formatting happens on open, not on demand from you.

Good candidates

Build a live dashboard for anything you'd otherwise re-ask and re-read: a project tracker, a hiring pipeline, a weekly-metrics page, a support queue, your open tasks across tools. If the underlying data changes over time and you check it regularly, it's a candidate.

Build the view once and you reopen it for years. That's leverage you can see.
